1. Program Manager:
The Bible Society of Uganda is seeking for a qualified and passionate individual with outstanding Management and leadership qualifications, experience and skills. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to our program team, ensure that the Program department operations and initiatives are effective, efficient and aligned to the overall strategic plan. The successful candidate must also be willing to share in our vision, mission and to join the team provided he or she meets the following requirements / guidelines:
Reports to: General Secretary / CEO
Job purpose
Responsible for working with senior management to plan and develop programs and activities for BSU. Responsible for supervising the program team projects and activities and ensure that BSU continues to score in her vision and mission
Essential qualification requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business or related field
• Proven experience in program, stakeholder, and team management for at least 3 years.
• Must be a Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
• Knowledge of project funding procedures and guidelines
• Competency in monitoring and evaluation
• Understanding of project management.
• Time management skills
• Good writing & communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
• Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of BSU.
• Create and manage long-term goals.
• Develop a budget and operation plans for the program.
• Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
• Write program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.
• Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
• Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
• Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
• Meet with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
• Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
• Analyse program risks.
• Work on strategy with the marketing team.

2. Finance Manager

The ideal candidate will provide leadership to our finance team, ensure that our finance department operations and initiatives are effective, efficient and aligned to the overall strategic plan. The successful candidate must also be willing to share in our vision, mission and to join the team provided he or she meets the following requirements / guidelines:

Job purpose
Responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization, to supervise the organization’s accounting operations and assets of the organization with the aim of providing financial information to the stakeholders thus enabling them make sound decisions for the organization.
Essential qualification requirements
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related field is required. A Masters’ degree or a relevant MBA is added advantage.
• Full qualification of CPA or ACCA
• Must be a Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Experience of at least 5 years in financial management and audit experience.
• Accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
• Knowledge of the national laws and government regulations pertaining to the activities of the organization.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and divide your time between work and study.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Engage in active learning to acquire new information for better decision making
• Strong IT skills and ability to use different ERP systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report writing skills.
• High level of self-motivation, determination, and confidence in your abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the operations in the department and designing structures and processes that can assist the team in achieving the goals of the department.
• Preparation and implementation of the yearly organization Budget and cash flows.
• Assist in the determination of Scripture pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing.
• Manage the organization’s investments and make recommendations
• Maintain relationships between the organization and its clients both customers and suppliers.
• To oversee maintenance of the organization’s property.
• Respond to queries for scriptures and financial management of the organization.
• Ensure that the organization meets its financial obligations both current and future in relation to its activities and inventory.
• Make financial reports of the different projects within the organization
• Ensure that the financial statements are prepared and are accurate and reflect the activities of the organization in a given period
• Preparation of financial documents for presentation to the finance committee, with interpretations of the finances of the organization and recommendations thereof.
• Assist in formulating plans for the strategic direction of the organization.
• To oversee credit extensions to customers
• Assist in formulation of policies to enable cost cutting techniques and value for money activities.
